What actually is HHC?
Hexahydrocannabinol or "HHC" is a cannabinoid, which is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in cannabis plants. Scientists have found more than 150 cannabinoids.
The best-known cannabinoids are delta-9 THC and cannabidiol (CBD). THC is the ingredient in the cannabis plant that is responsible for the feeling of intoxication.
Cannabidiol is the key ingredient in many CBD products that claim to help with everything from pain and tension to anxiety, depression, and sleep problems.
In fact, there are many reasons for the widespread use of CBD. The scientific explanation for the broad spectrum of legal cannabinoids is fascinating. Indeed, it has been proven that many cannabinoids have a significantly wide range of uses, including of course the very typical uses such as relaxing muscle groups. It is also often forgotten that we naturally produce cannabinoids to survive, this process is necessary even without the supply of foreign cannabinoids.
Does HHC get you high?
Like THC, HHC produces a pleasurable sensation for many people when ingested. But what exactly that feeling is is not so easy to define. At least in the present moment.
Some people report effects similar to traditional THC products, but there aren't enough studies to say for sure if this is the case. There is also insufficient scientific data to confirm that taking HHC can cause negative side effects or even long-term negative effects. Reducing your baby's birth weight if you consume them during pregnancy increased risk of car accidents.
Habitual use can make it extremely difficult, especially in young people, to stop using (cannabis addiction)
Negative impact on relationships and ability to work at home, work, or school.
Greater risk of injury in older adults
Dizziness when standing up, increased risk of fainting and falls
An increased risk of mental illness in some people
Dangers of HHC
Experts strongly warn against using vapes to inhale cannabis and cannabis-like substances. This is partly because there is evidence of lung injury in people who consume these substances using vape technology, but also because scientists are deepening the research. You may not even know exactly what the product actually contains. In 2017, scientists conducted a thorough screening of more than 80 CBD products sold online. They found that more than 40% contained more of the active ingredient than advertised, and about a quarter of the products contained less than the advertised concentration.

Is HHC legal?
This cannot be clearly established. In general, it has long been regulated in the EU that many countries, such as Germany, comply with a very low limit value of tetrahydrocannabinol, in the case of Germany this value is 0.2%. As long as this limit is observed and abuse for intoxication purposes can be ruled out, it is usually permitted to use side effects of the hemp plant for many areas. Among these, legal cannabinoids are primarily used in medicine.
Science will confirm, explore, and study many more naturally occurring cannabinoids over the next few years. As far as we know, HHC is 100% legal. Despite this, there is no official legalization, likewise there is no illegalization. It also does not violate the newly imposed Psychoactive Substances Act, the BTMG does not apply to HHC either.
Products such as Delta-8 THC and HHC can be made from hemp. However, some experts claim that these types of products are illegal because they need to be modified in a lab. Since 2020, it has been common to use a natural manufacturing process for HHC products. Previously, it was common to produce extracts through chemical processes.
